In addition, the American Federation of Police & Concerned Citizens has several benefit programs available to survivors of all ages. Some of their programs include college scholarships, grief counseling, gift programs for surviving children and parents, and camp scholarships.

SAFE - Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission provides financial support for the surviving spouses and dependents or, in their absence, the parents of sworn law enforcement officers, emergency services

personnel and firefighters who lose their life in the performance of their duties. The employing agency must be headquartered within the geographic boundaries of the SAFE program as defined in the current

by-laws. Also available is the Ed Wynn/SAFE Memorial Scholarship.

GOLD STAR TEEN ADVENTURES provides unique year round outdoor adventure programs for the surviving youth of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The purpose of the program is to provide healing, mentor-ship, leadership development and unique and challenging adventure opportunities. The program serves youth of all branches of military service, law enforcement and other designated first responders, and designated government agencies.
