Susan is the mother of Police Officer Jeff Atherly. Officer Atherly and Corporal David Gogian were shot and killed on Sunday, December 16, 2012 while checking on a suspicious vehicle in a grocery store parking lot.
Tammy is the wife of Sheriff Matthew Samuels, Greenwood County Sheriff's Office, KS. Sheriff Samuels was shot and killed as he and two deputies served an arrest warrant at a home on Wednesday, January 19, 2005.
Connie is the wife of Sheriff Allan Weber, Gove County Sheriff's Office, KS. Sheriff Weber died on Friday, December 18, 2020, from complications as the result of contracting COVID-19 while on duty at the Gove County Emergency Operations Center.
